What to Do After Your Engagement Session

Your engagement session is over and you have all these amazing photos, but that doesn't mean your enjoyment of your engagement session has to be over. There are so many things you can do with your photos to continue to celebrate your love with your fiance. From being an integral part of celebrating your upcoming wedding, to having a product that you can enjoy for years to come, here are my suggestions for what to do after your engagement session is over.

Use Your Photos To Celebrate Your Wedding

One of the most common uses for engagement photos is their use on wedding stationary such as save the dates and even wedding invitations. Chances are that while everyone you invite to your wedding is special and important, not everyone who is invited has necessarily met either you or your significant other. It's a great way for people to see you both as a couple and it makes your save the date fridge worthy! It's also a simple and easy way for your save the dates to be completely unique because no one will have the same photos you do.

Another use for your engagement photos at your wedding is as decorations at your reception. The day is all about you and your love so what better way to show your guests than to have photos of the both of you as decoration. There are many cute and special ways you can display your photos from cool frames to table toppers the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Your guests will love it and it will most definitely be a talking point for all of them during cocktail hour into the reception.

If you want to kick it up a notch you can even create a guest book with the photos from your engagement shoot. This is a popular idea and is a way for you to look back and not only have warm feelings because of your engagement photos, but also remember everyone who came to your wedding to support you and your loved one on your journey.

Get Something Tangible

I can not stress how important it is to get something tangible from your engagement photos. It’s been scientifically proven that when kids see printed photos of themselves with displayed in their homes that it improves their self confidence and self-value. If printed photos can do that for kids, just imagine what it can do for you and your boo. Every time you walk by that image in your house you'll get all of those feel-good-feelings and remember why you love your honey so much!

There are an infinite amount of products that you could put your image on, but my favorite would have to be wall art. I offer a variety of wall art and if there's something specific you want I am more than happy to find a way to make that happen. With wall art you can have something super unique like an acrylic (if you get the matte finish it looks beyond dreamy) which is an awesome stand out piece for your home. There's also more classic options like a canvas or prints which are popular options. My personal choice would have to be metal prints. They are unique and really give your photos life without breaking the bank. I think it's super important to have something tangible from your engagement photos, but I also think it's wise to get them through a professional like me where you can be sure of the quality.

Another way to use your photos is to create a small album from them. One option is getting a bunch of 4x6s and putting them in a premade album. I also offer small professional albums or photo books and these are great little reminders for you to have forever. My mini accordion albums are perfect for getting a few small albums and keeping them in a desk at work, in a nightstand, or even in your living room.

Buckle Down on Wedding Planning

After getting your engagement photos you're hopefully on cloud nine and filled with excitement! Use that excitement and energy to finish planning your wedding! In my opinion it's so much better to get most of it out of the way at this point and tie up loose ends rather than the month before your wedding. That way you have excitement on your side while planning, but you also aren't as stressed out leading up to your wedding and hopefully you can just relax and enjoy your day!
