Make Your Engagement Photos an Event!

Engagements are filled with so much excitement! You found your person and are eager to start you life together. You spend time planning your wedding and making sure it's everything you've ever dreamed of. You invite your friends and family and they are ready to party and celebrate you! There is so much anticipation, enthusiasm, and happiness that it makes perfect sense to capture that joy in photos so you can remember it for years to come!

The wonderful about engagement photos is that you can have so much creativity with them. You can turn taking photos into a fun filled event! This helps set the tone for you engagement photos so that they are enjoyable, about your relationship, and meaningful to you! This also makes it a special day that you won't want to forget (and with the amazing photos you'll get you won't ever have a chance to forget)!

There are so many ways you can turn your engagement photos into an event.

Here are three of my favorite ways!

1. Do an Activity

Who said all engagement photos have to be taken in a pretty field? While finding the perfect location to take your engagement photos may be at the top of your list, know that you can think outside the box. A great example of this would be to go to a winery and have a wine tasting. You get to do an activity, have fun, and feel relaxed for your photo session. You could also do a picnic, or take a walk to see all the Christmas lights depending on the time of year. You could do something you've never done before, like go in a hot air balloon, or you could do something that you do all the time, like go gym. The possibilities are endless and turning your engagement photos into an activity makes the day more exciting, helps you feel less nervous in front of the camera because you have something to do, and makes for some truly unique images that capture your relationship perfectly.

2. Make it A Date Night

Odds are you'll want to be dressed up and looking extra nice for your photos. Taking engagement photos won't last all day, so you might as well make the most of being dressed up and looking nice. Plan a nice dinner date to a fancy restaurant for after your session, hit the town and go dancing, or go to an art gallery or other special event that you enjoy. Use this day to put aside other commitments, such as wedding planning, and just enjoy the company of your loved one and celebrate your upcoming life together!

3. Include Your Pets

Making your engagement photos unique and personal is so simple if you just include your pets! Your pets can be in all of your photos or just some. Including your pets makes your photos so special and will give your images those special memories that come with your pet. If you do include your pet in your engagement photos some tips are to make sure you bring treats, let your photographer know ahead of time, and make sure your pet is familiar with the location prior to the engagement shoot.
